So I've beaten the game a handful of times. Each time, it's been with a character I've gone, "You know what, you matter enough that I am going to invest some time into you!".
Here are they.
Second Run - Pylia
True Neutral Human Swashbuckler 6/Mage 8
STR - 13
INT - 17
WIS - 13
DEX - 19
CON - 12
CHA - 18
Weapon Proficiencies: Derrrp I forgot; I know "crossbows" and "scimitars" were in there.
Details of this playthrough are a little hazy... I remember I made a brief foray into The Secret of Bone Hill, but something I screwed up with the mod made me throw my arms up and just get on with the main story. :x
I roleplayed her as a pretty "take no flak" girl, who initially trained with some visiting sea men, before studying de majiks.
Tactics consisted of disorienting things with Indira, and then laying them to waste with a sword I got from a mod that dealt acid damage.
After saving the Sword Coast, Pylia decided to hunt down doppelgangers, because to the hellS with doppelgangers. Those things are creepy.
Party Members
Finch: Pylia's morality pet.
Ajantis: Pylia sort of flirted with him, until he started acting all self-righteous about her being a rogue, and all, and she felt sort of like a heel for playing with him. Ajantis was pretty miffed, but he stayed along because I guess he thought he could make her not shoplift. :derp:
Indira: Another morality pet. Helped teach Pylia how to mage.
Alora: Pylia was like, "Uhh, yeah, you can come along, I guess.".
Eldoth & Skie: Pylia liked Eldoth's ribald songs, but didn't much appreciate what a raging misogynist he was. She thought Skie was an alright girl, and took her along after, you know, "kidnapping" her. And because she felt bad for her after Eldoth got a bellyful of ghast-claws. Pylia, take your hand off of her shoulder, it's been there long enough.
Voice set used was the cute, Default BG II one. Portrait was this model dressed as a pirate, in a photograph take by Marcus Ranum.
I am satisfied with myself because Finch and Indira, even though I did not finish Finch's quest.
Third Run - Almgros
Neutral Good Male Human Fighter
STR - 19
INT - 13
WIS - 14
DEX - 15
CON - 17
CHA - 16
Weapon Proficiencies: Long Swords and Hammers, dual-wielded.
Almgros was my first Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition run. He was a pretty straightforward Fighter. He was also an alright dude.
I just had him run at things and beat them until they fell over. Not as easy as it sounds with the level cap in place, but he had friends along to help him out. :x
Party Members
Imoen: Almgros' best friend since childhood!
Neera: Almgros was smitten by this awkward half-elf, and decided to help her out, and stuff. She's a champ, she put up with his awkward attempts at romance.
Branwen: The reason everybody is still alive. See, Branwen believes in using shields, unlike Captain No-Shirt in Slot 1. She also taught Almgros about gods other than Deneir, Gond, Mystra, and Oghma. Gave him relationship advice, too.
Coran: Almgros was alright with him up until the time he found out about Brielbara and Namarra; then, he was like, "Wow, Coran, you kind of suck. Go be a family man.". But Coran was like, "Naw, I want to help you out.", and Almgros was like, "Fine, but the minute things get sorted out, you go take care of that baby, or I swear you'll need some artificial limbs to fire that bow.". Later, he got eaten by therianthropes in the Forests of Tethyr. Win/win.
Dorn Il-Khan: This dude tried Almgros' patience from the start. Then, he implied that Neera was a worm, and later on, he fed Phandalyn his sword. Almgros was like, "Not cool, moron." and gave him the boot.
Quayle: Because every band needs That Last Member.
Voice Set: The one that sounded the most like Jeff Bridges.
Portrait: Fabio Lanzoni, no joke.
